Placenta Encapsulator
Amanda graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth in 2007 where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women's Studies and a minor in Cultural Studies. Her fascination with women's healthcare and choices around birth began here, and has been the driving force in her path to midwifery. After graduation, Amanda lived and worked in various parts of the world, all the while nurturing a wish to redirect her life's path toward supporting women during their childbearing year. Upon her return to Minnesota in 2009, Amanda received her training as a birth doula and began her midwifery training at Birthwise Midwifery School in Bridgton, Maine. The three-year midwifery program includes comprehensive medical courses, training in healthcare skills, and hands-on experiences in the art and science of midwifery.
Currently, Amanda works as a full-time midwife at a local birth center and offers placenta encapsulation services to families throughout the Twin Cities.
